Neal Harmelink, MD

Dr.  Neal Harmelink brings a strong background in finance and accounting alongside  decades of clinical and organizational leadership. A foundational leader  since the organization’s inception, he served as its founding Chief Financial  Officer in 2014 and has continued in executive leadership and board roles  since that time, assuming the role of Chair of the Board in 2026. Dr.  Harmelink has been in private practice with Emergency Medicine Specialists  (EMS) since 2003 and has amassed extensive clinical and operational  experience, including service as medical director of four emergency  departments, medical staff presidency, long-standing member of the EMS  Executive Committee or Board of Directors since 2006, and leader of an urgent  care startup. He uniquely combines deep clinical and operational expertise  with strong financial acumen and a passion for independent medical practices  to guide the organization’s strategy, governance, and long-term  sustainability.
